Project One

I would like to thank you for all the hard work, effort and guidance that you provided me since I started the career guidance programme with you in May this year. I have now been in my current position, Technical & Marketing Director, for 7 weeks and am thoroughly enjoying my new role.

It is hard for me to describe the full effect that your guidance has made to my career. When we first met in May I was very disillusioned with the job market and frustrated at my lack of ability to get interviews and offers for what I considered to be positions for which I was ‘ideally’ suited. After listening to you outline the programme of work and considering the potential benefits to my search and future career I ‘signed up’ for the programme, at my own cost. I considered other similar programmes but choose to work with you after our initial meeting as I found you to be very open and honest and knowledgeable of the issues and challenges that I was facing.

When I started the programme with you I had been out of work for 17 months, mainly by choice, however for the last 4 months I had become frustrated at my lack of success in the Job market. Since starting our work together I subsequently applied for only 2 positions and received offers for both positions and accepted the second offer. From our first meeting to accepting this position was less than 4 months.

I remember at our first contact session writing out my ‘ideal’ job description and saying that I did not think that such a position would exist in the UK and now I am now in that ideal position. I found the process both demanding and very revealing and it made my think about my career in a more objective and structured manner. The programme gave me the support, confidence and composure to address the key areas of the job market, application letters, CV’s and interview techniques and opened my eyes to better ways of presenting myself to potential employers.

I would willingly act as a reference to anybody who is thinking about enlisting your help in their career searches.
