Do Town and Partners only handle recruitment assignments?

Can I call Town and Partners and ask them to send me over CV’s from your database?

Although we maintain an extensive candidate database to support client assignments we place a very high emphasis on providing a personal and bespoke service to our clients and our candidates. We only source candidates following a detailed client briefing to ensure that every individual short listed meets your exact requirements. We work predominantly on a retained and exclusive basis in order to maintain the highest level of quality, building up long term relationships with clients. Do you only recruit people working in a particular sector, function or discipline?

Over the years, we have built up expert knowledge of a wide range of different sectors, functions and disciplines. Our experienced consultants have recruited candidates into diverse businesses from manufacturing, FMCG, business to business, professional services and into the public and not for profit sectors. We have also recruited into most disciplines and functions from Board level directors, production, HR, sales, marketing and general management. We believe firmly that it is the quality of the recruitment experience and expertise which really counts and our high quality business processes and client knowledge ensure the perfect result every time regardless of sector, function or discipline.

Do you always work within a particular salary band or threshold?

Although a good deal of our work is at a relatively senior level with clients looking for individuals with a salary of £50/60k or above we are completely flexible in order to meet our clients needs exactly. Hard to fill vacancies at a more junior or specialist level benefit from our thorough and in-depth methods and the nature of our relationship with clients has meant that many ask us to look at all their vacancies irrespective of seniority or salary level.

In the past when meeting consultancy companies the person who initially comes to see me is not the one who subsequently manages my assignment and I feel let down. Does this happen at Town and Partners?

At Town and Partners we do not employ sales people and we believe strongly in building up a trusting relationship between consultant and client. The individuals you meet in the initial stages are the people who will work with you on the assignment. A consultant might bring in a colleague from time to time where they believe that another Town and Partners consultant has specific expertise or experience which is relevant to your project for example to carry out assessment work or to bring their personal sector knowledge to the assignment.

I see you are based in Leeds. Do you just work in the North of England?

Although our office is in Leeds we have consultants based all over the UK. We handle assignments the length and breadth of the country and overseas as well. Wherever you are based you can be assured of a personal service with as much face to face time as the assignment requires.

As we work on a retained basis we are not able to respond to every CV which we receive but it will be included on our database if we are not currently handling anything appropriate to your career search. If I send my CV to you via the web site can I be sure that my details won’t get into the wrong hands?

We treat all our potential candidates with the utmost respect and the integrity on which we pride ourselves. We do not post CV’s on our web site. Instead they are kept on our confidential database which only our consultants have access to. We never send your details to a client without getting to know you first and having a detailed conversation about your needs and aspirations. In this way we are very different to many recruitment companies which you may have experienced. We treat every candidate as a potential employee of one of our valued clients not as an impersonal CV.

I am not looking for a permanent appointment at this time. Can you help?

Town and Partners handle a wide range of interim assignments to suit the business position of our clients. We treat interim appointments with the same level of care and dedication as permanent appointments which makes us a bit special in this area. Do you offer an outplacement service?

We offer bespoke outplacement on behalf of our clients who may be looking to re-structure their workforce or re-engineer their business processes. We also offer career coaching to individuals who are looking to re-assess their career path or look for new opportunities. Can you help me with a key HR project?

Our HR Services specialists work with clients on a wide range of HR projects. We pride ourselves on our flexibility so we are able to get involved in any kind of assignment from complete HR outsourcing on behalf of a company to a one off advice session. Our specialists have many years’ experience gained in businesses of all sizes and sectors and can offer expert knowledge of most HR issues including union negotiation, workforce evaluation, pay/grading, post acquisition integration, talent management, industrial tribunals and strategic planning. Our interventions can be both strategic and tactical but are always practical, relevant and excellent value for money.

How does your fee structure work?

We believe in providing our clients with a flexible approach to fees based on their needs, budgets and the complexity of the assignment. We don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach to our work and this includes our fee structure. We will provide you with a detailed and transparent cost breakdown once we have taken a full brief and before commencing any chargeable work.
