Project One

Town and Partners were instrumental in the recruitment of a National Procurement Manager for one of the largest law firms in the country. The organisation at the time had significant problems with regard to supply chain activities – their team was highly inexperienced and had been lacking in leadership for a significant period of time. There was significant unrest within the department, morale was low and the current Purchasing Manager had resigned from their position.

The client was keen to appoint a new Purchasing Manager. However, Town and Partners felt that this approach in the short term was incorrect as it became apparent during conversations that the organisation was unsure as to the core issues and agenda. As such, Town and Partners proposed the recruitment of an interim manager to come in and stem the flow and identify the core issues.

This was in fact implemented, following which Town and Partners were able to work with the interim Head of Supply Chain in order to determine the exact shape, size and scope of the role with regard to the appointment of a new National Procurement Manager.

Town and Partners handled this assignment and were able to recruit successfully a high calibre professional to take on the mantel and drive the supply chain processes to new heights of excellence

Project Two

Town and Partners were involved in a major interim management exercise working with a client in the building products sector. The client had had a major fire at a key manufacturing facility and as such, the outsourcing of products had become critical to the organisations plans for the short term. Expertise in the supply chain planning, materials management and forecasting were limited and due to the significant time pressures affecting the organisation, Town and Partners recommended the recruitment of an Interim Materials and Planning Manager to drive the project forward.

A successful individual was appointed to the organisation and the project developed from an initial 3 month period to over 18 months. The successful candidate was able to tackle at first hand the key issues affecting the client’s organisation – they were able to implement strategic sourcing, forecasting activities both within the UK and overseas in order to ensure the continued availability for the customers. Alongside this they redefined the supply chain whilst the rebuilding of the factory in the UK was successfully completed.

The project allowed the client to focus one hundred percent on the main issues affecting them with a highly credible individual who could hit the ground running.
